Sinbad Sports is proud to hosts Jose Fernandez for an exclusive in-store signing May 22, 2014. Fernandez has won back the hearts of many Marlins fans, after many turned their back on the team in the past few years. He is a major bright spot for the organization and I personally believe after seeing him pitch live, that he is the real deal! Possible future Hall of Fame? Who knows, only his performance and time can tell, but the chance to get his signature with his talent at such a young age is significant! The Marlins have started the 2014 season off hot and Jose has been stellar! He's already received 2 wins and is posting a 0.71 ERA with a 0.79 WHIP.

If your unaware of Jose's story I’ll fill you in:

A defector from Santa Clara, Cuba, Jose floated in a non-motorized vessel from Cuba to the USA in 2008. Looking for a better life for him and his family, Jose decided to take the heroic and deadly trip across the Atlantic Ocean. He wound up in Tampa, FL where he played out his High School ball at Braulio Alonzo High School. The amazing part of the story is this guy not only tried to escape multiple times while once being shot at, but he also jumped from the vessel he was occupying when another older man yelled for Jose to jump in the water to save a women that was drowning. The women ended up being his mother... Just amazing stuff and I would not miss this opportunity to shake this young mans hand and get his autograph.
